Second militant body has been recovered from the encounter site at Sutsoo Kalan area of Chatergam in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

A senior Police officer told GNS that we have recovered also second militant body from encounter site along with one M4 rifle and a INSAS.

 

 

 

 

However the officer declined to reveal the identity of the slain militants.

Earlier a senior Police officer told that one militant has been killed and five Armymen injured in Sutsoo Kalan.

The officer further said that firing has stopped as off now but searches are going on.

Two militants were killed after contact was reestablished between goverment forces and militants in Mir Mohalla in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday morning.

Two Local militants were killed in Mir Mohalla after forces blasted house and razed it to the ground.

 

 

 

If sources are to believed both the slain militants are local and were affiliated with Hizb.

A senior Police officer also confirmed killing of two militants and said that search operation still on. So far we have recovered two bodies of militants along with two AK47.
Earlier a senior Police officer told GNS that yesterday after initial brief exchange of firing there was long lull, but we had tightened the cordon and sealed all the exit routes of the area.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The officer further said that due to darkness the operation was suspended and as soon the first ray of light came the forces again started searches near suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon goverment forces triggering again an encounter, the officer said.

On the eve of republic day two Jaish militants were killed after a gunfight broke out between militants and goverment forces in Khanmoh area of Pampore in outskirts of Srinagar district early morning on Saturday.

 

 

 

A senior police officer told  that two militants have been killed however their identification is yet to be and we are sanitizing the area so it will take sometime.

 

 

 

The officer furthee said that they belonged to Jaish outfit and where on mission to Sabotage republic day. Two AK- 47s and lot of ammunition has been recovered from them, the officer said.

At least one militant was killed in a gunfight with the government forces at a village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday evening, police said.

A police official said that joint teams of army, CRPF and SOG personnel laid a seige around a cluster of houses in Khudpora village of Shopian.

As the forces started a door to door search operation, the hiding militants, believed to be two in number, opened fire on them, triggering an encounter, he said.

in the gunfight, two militants are believed to have been killed, said the official.

However, only one body was recovered so far, said the official, adding that two militants were believed to be trapped inside the area. “Searches are going on in the area,” he said.

ADGP law and order, Muneer Khan confirmed the recovery of a militant’s body.

Four militants have been killed in a gunfight in southern Kashmir’s Arwani area of Anantnag district. Police sources confirmed the killings.

Earlier, sources said, government forces engaged a group of militants in a gunfight after cordoning the house that they were trapped in.

The gunfight, they said, led to the killing of four militants. “The search operation is still going on.”

The identity of the slain militants is being ascertained.

Two militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit were killed in a gunfight at Galoora area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Reports reaching GNS said that that army’s 30 RR, 92 bn CRPF and SOG cordoned Galoora area of Langate during pre dawn hours.

Soon after the joint team of forces fired several gunshots amid the cordon leading to an encounter, they said.

An army officer that the gunfight started after a cordon-and-search operation was launched in the village at around 2:30 am following specific information about the presence of some militants.

He said that two militants of LeT were killed in the operation. “The bodies of the deceased were recovered along with arms and ammunition”.

Sources identified the slain militants as Liyaqat of Harwan Sopore and Furqan of Handwara.

Meanwhile, in wake of the gunfight, authorities snapped internet services in Handwara parts while as district administration Kupwara has decided to suspend class work today in GDC Handwara and all Higher Secondary Schools of Handwara, Mawar and Langate Zones as a precautionery measure.

Hajin Encounter Update: One Militant Killed In Gunfight In Hajin North Kashmir, Search Operation Continues

A militant was today killed in a gunfight with the government forces in Hajin area of Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir, the police said.

Forces launched a cordon and search operation in Hajin area following information about presence of militants there, a police official said.

He said the search operation turned into an encounter after militants opened fire towards security forces’ positions.

One militant has been killed in the operation, the official said adding searches were still going on.

The identity of the slain militant was not immediately established, he said.

Kupwara Gunfight Update: One Militant Body Recovered, Search Operation Continues

Body of a militant was recovered during a search operation in the forest area of Kachama in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday.
A senior army officer told that a militant body has been recovered by the search party this morning along with an AK-rifle at Tunga Top- the upper belt of Kachama forests.
The officer said that the search operation in the area is still ongoing to trace out the other members of the group.
Earlier, sources had said that the group of militants and army’s 10 JAK search party had a stand-off late last night at Tunga Top forests.
The exchange of firing continued intermittently till pre-dawn hours today, they said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara Ambarkar Shriram Dinkar had also confirmed the stand-off and said that the firing has stopped as of now.
“The search operation has been launched in the area to find out anybody or to trace out the militant group,” he had said.

Larnoo Encounter Update: Militants After A Brief Exchange of Fire Escaped into Forests, Search Operation Continues

A brief gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Larnoo area of Kokernag in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday, police said.

An official said that the firefight began after a joint team of police, army and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation following specific inputs about the presence of militants.

“Cordon and search operation which was launched in forest area of Pahlipora Larnoo Kokernag in Anantnag has turned into encounter,” tweeted Jammu and Kashmir police from its official handle.

However, a source said that militants after exchanging fire with the forces managed to escape into adjoining forests.

He said forces rushed to the area and launched a massive search operation to nab the militants.

“Forces have been rushed to the forest area and they are conducting searches as they suspect the presence of 2-3 militants including top Hizb commander Ashraf Maulvi,” said an official.

A joint team of army’s Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force and SOG of Jammu and Kashmir police have cordoned off the area, he said.

The area continues to be under siege and there was no exchange of gunfire except initial bout of firing till this report was filed.

Tral Encounter Update: One Militant Killed Sofar, Search Operation Continues

A militant has been killed in an encounter started in Chopan Mohallah, seer area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.

“Acting on a specific information a joint team of 42RR, SOG Tral and CRPF Cordoned off the Chopan Mohalla area of Tral following a specific input about the presence of some militants”, a police officer said.

As the joint team of forces intensified the searches, the hiding militants opened fire triggering off an encounter.

Sofar a militant reportedly identified as Adil Chopin has been, the offIcer said,a adding that the search operation is still going on in the area.
