Drug Peddler Arrested, 2 Kgs Of Heroin Recovered In Karnah
Kupwara, Jun 8: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara said to have arrested a drug peddler on whose possession it claimed to have recovered two kilograms of Heroin here in Yariban Hajitra in Taad area of Karnah.
According to police they said during checking, the Naka party intercepted a person in a suspicious condition, following which he was apprehended and on his disclosure identified as Naseer Ahmad Shiekh a resident of Hajitra.
During the personal search two packets of Heroin weighing about two kilograms were recovered from the possession of apprehended person, it said.
Accordingly a legal action has been taken and a case vide FIR Number 61/21 under section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Karnah against the accused person and investigations into it taken up, it said.
The war against these drug peddlers will continue and those found involved in these acts will be strictly dealt under law, it further said. gns
Heroin Worth Five Lakh Rs Recovered From A Notorious Drug Peddler ln Jammu
An alleged notorious drug peddler was arrested along with 50 grams of heroin worth Rs five lakh here, police said Wednesday.
Rayees Ahmad Shah, a resident of Brawari village of Kupwara, was noticed walking suspiciously by a police party engaged in vehicle checking at Digiana Pulli in Gandhi Nagar area of the city Tuesday evening, a police official said.
On noticing the police, Shah tried to escape, but was caught, he said, adding that his search led to the recovery of 50 grams of heroin.
He said the accused turned out to be a notorious drug peddler who used to bring heroin from Kashmir and sell it in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts.
A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) act was registered against him, the official said.
Drug Peddler Arrested, Codeine Bottles Seized in Lal Bazar Srinagar
On 14/02/2018, a routine Naka was laid by SHO of police station Lal Bazar and his team under the supervision of SDPO Hazratbal Srinagar at Gulshan Bagh Lal Bazar.
During Naka checking one person namely Irfan Rashid Rather, S/O Abdul Rashid Rather , R/O Chanapora Alnoor Colony was stopped for checking, during search 50 bottles of coedine phosphate (banned substance) were recovered from his possesion. The said drug peddler was arrested on spot and codeine bottles were seized.
In this regard case FIR No. 13/2018 ,U/S 8/22 NDPS Act stands registered in the police station Lalbazar and investigation taken up. The accused is a habitual drug peddler who used to sell these drugs to youngsters and earn illegal profit. With his arrest police has taken a step ahead in curbing the menace of drugs in Srinagar city.
SRINAGAR POLICE RECOVERS HUGE QUANTITY OF CHARAS, DRUG PEDDLER ARRESTED

The Case FIR no 297/17 u/s 8/20 NDPS has been registered and further investigation is in progress, more recoveries & arrests are expected in the case
